2002 10 30:

Regarding the new stamp set from ARGENTINA I have news for you: A new type of printing process in stamp production was used for producing this set of four stamps (004 - 007). It is called "thermographic application" and it has the effect that you can feel the lines on the net of all four stamps when you touch them.

2002 10 28:

I have started to list the Japanese phonecards. It will take some time to have them all online, but a beginning is made.

2002 10 24:

I could add a new ticket from the recent World Championships in ARGENTINA. It is from the final match.

I could add a double sheet as well as a printer's sheet of stamp AUSTRALIA 002d.

2002 10 19:

I added the TELEPHONE CARDS of the rest of the countries (San Marino, Singapore, Thailand and United States of America) ! The Japanese cards will follow during the next weeks.

2002 10 18:

Piet van den Berg from Holland made a great find: A new souvenir sheet from QATAR issued for the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. Qatar has never issued a stamp showing Volleyball before and is country number 168 to do so now !
I have started listing my collection of 512 telephone cards from 20 different countries. You can find the following countries online: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China PR, Fiji, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jersey, Korea South, Mexico, New Zealand and Peru. You find them under TELEPHONE CARDS. The rest of the countries (San Marino, Singapore, Thailand and United States of America) will follow shortly ! For the Japanese cards (444 all together) I will take a little longer.

2002 10 17:

I listed a new Maximum card from BRAZIL with number 003.
I have also added the four new stamps issued by ARGENTINA (numbers 004 - 007).
I added a ticket from the recent World Championships in ARGENTINA (number 001).
I have also listed a cancel used by the Argentinian Postal Authorities on the First Day of Issue of the stamps issued for the World Championships. You find it under number 017 in ARGENTINA. Although this cancel does not directly have a Volleyball topic, it shows the mascot used during the World Championships, and that is why I list it together with all the other commemorative cancels. I listed a new postcard from AUSTRALIA. It gets number 001.
1 also could list a new related stationery from AUSTRALIA. It gets number 001.

Dear friends of Volleyball Philately !
It is perfetcly clear to me that many of you will not be able to attend our planned meeting during the International Berlin Stamp Days. For those of you who will have the possibility to attend I have the following information. Please be aware that it will be a very informal meeting. It is not possible to prepare a huge program for four or five people. Nevertheless I think it will be a nice moment to get to know each other personally, and I am sure that we will be able to exchange a lot of information and maybe also a lot of material.
For our meeting I propose the following:
Venue: International Berlin Stamp Days, Area of the Berlin Fair, Hall 21 A
Meeting point: Stand A 7 (this is the stand of our German friends from the Olympia - and Sport Philatelists Club Berlin)

There is a new commemorative cancel Sepak Takraw from the PHILIPPINES. It gets number 001.

I could add a better scan of Cinderella stamp TATARSTAN 001b.
There is a new Cinderella sheetlet from CHINA. It gets number 003.

I have added the rest of the VOLLEYBALL TICKETS from my collection. You can find the following countries: Korea South, Mexico, Netherlands, Soviet Union, Spain, United States of America and Yugoslavia.

2002 10 04:

I have started with the listings of VOLLEYBALL TICKETS You can see the following countries already: Australia, Austria, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany and Greece. The rest will follow shortly. If you have any tickets which are not listed please send me a scan.
According to the opinion of most of the visitors of this homepage, I shall add the Mongolian souvenir sheet (see posting of Oct 2nd) to our listing.

2002 10 02:

I ccould add a new issue from KYRGYZSTAN. It gets numbers 001a and 001b. I am not sure if they are real stamps; for the time being I list them as such untill I get further information.
I could add a long-searched-for item to my collection. I have been looking for a copy of stamp DJIBOUTI 003 for a very, very long time. Now I could get a copy. Although it is cancelled it is the first copy of this stamps I have ever seen. Please don't ask me about the prize I paid for it !!!

Unfortunately I have not received one single comment about the issue from Mongolia. I picture it here again and would like to ask you for your comments: My good friend Luciano Calenda from Italy sent me a scan of an interesting souvenir sheet from MONGOLIA. It seems that on one of the stamps there is a Volleyball. What do you think - check the image and the enlargement and tell me your opinion, clicking here:

This souvenir sheet was issued for the "World Intellectual Property Organization" in 1999. It has Yvert & Tellier # 2437 (the stamp is Yvert & Tellier 2437F)
